Georges Montbard Architectural Illustrations

During the 1880s and 1890s, Georges Montbard (1841-1905) illustrated many of the English Homes series and other articles for the Illustrated London News.  In each article, he would paint a number of views of the subject property.

Condition: good overall, tear at upper right corner in the margin, discoloration in the sky to the right of the house, about 1″ crack line at bottom center but not showing on the reverse.

Condition: Appreciably yellowed; age toning and surface dirt; some correction to the figures and to the sky at upper left.

Condition: yellowing and age toning; foxing, especially to lower right, the damp causing the paper to pull away from the backing.
